New NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis)

March 22, 2023 0

The National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis, or NICOP, is an important document that is issued to Pakistani citizens living outside of Pakistan. The card serves as a form of identification and enables overseas Pakistanis to access a wide range of services, including banking, voting, and obtaining visas.

It is important to note that NICOP is only issued to overseas Pakistanis and not to those who reside within Pakistan. The process of obtaining a NICOP is relatively simple and can be done online or in person at the Pakistani embassy or consulate in the country of residence.

For Pakistani emigrant workers, who are working abroad, the government of Pakistan has abolished the requirement of having a NICOP. This means that these workers can continue to live and work abroad without the need to obtain a NICOP.

Overall, the NICOP is an important document for overseas Pakistanis and plays a crucial role in enabling them to access a range of services while living outside of Pakistan. If you are an overseas Pakistani, it is highly recommended that you obtain a NICOP to ensure that you have access to all the benefits and services that you are entitled to.
